Une famille nombreuse pauvre de paysans grecs de Phthiotide, vit les aventures historiques de notre patrie dans un intervalle d\u2019environ cent ans (1821-1923).<\/h6>\n
D\u00e9m\u00e9trios Phikas participe d\u00e8s le d\u00e9but (1821) \u00e0 la Guerre de Lib\u00e9ration nationale.<\/h6>\n
P\u00e9ricl\u00e8s prend part \u00e0 la Guerre de Mac\u00e9doine (1904-1908). En 1910, il \u00e9migre en Am\u00e9rique. Abandonnant la perspective d\u2019une vie meilleure, il rentre en Gr\u00e8ce en tant que volontaire et prend part \u00e0 la Deuxi\u00e8me Guerre balkanique dans le r\u00e9giment des Evzones.<\/h6>\n
D\u00e9mosth\u00e8ne Phikas, conscrit en 1911-1912, prend part \u00e0 la Premi\u00e8re et \u00e0 la Deuxi\u00e8me Guerre balkanique dans la brigade de cavalerie, ainsi qu\u2019\u00e0 la Premi\u00e8re Guerre mondiale et \u00e0 la campagne d\u2019Asie Mineure. Apr\u00e8s la bataille dans la r\u00e9gion de Tzoumagias (1913), il retrouve ses quatre fr\u00e8res a\u00een\u00e9s (P\u00e9ricl\u00e8s, H\u00e9racl\u00e8s, Ioannis et Constantin) qui font leur service en m\u00eame temps.<\/h6>\n
Il est promu pour faits d\u2019armes et quitte l\u2019arm\u00e9e apr\u00e8s douze ans de service avec le grade de colonel de cavalerie.<\/h6>\n
Ces hommes ne figurent pas parmi les h\u00e9ros retenus par l\u2019Histoire, ils se surpass\u00e8rent n\u00e9anmoins plus d\u2019une fois.\u00a0<\/i><\/h6>\n
C\u2019\u00e9taient des hommes simples et communs tout comme des millions d\u2019autres Grecs dont un terrible \u00e9v\u00e9nement \u2013 la guerre \u2013 changea subitement la vie. Ils servirent durant de longues ann\u00e9es, se trouv\u00e8rent tr\u00e8s loin de chez eux, perdirent des parents et des amis, sentirent autour d\u2019eux la pr\u00e9sence froide de la mort. Leurs r\u00eaves modestes devinrent visionnaires et de Grandes Id\u00e9es. Les livres d\u2019histoire ne parlent pas d\u2019eux, mais eux ont \u00e9crit leur propre Histoire.<\/i><\/h6>\n
